Ying Hsien Tan, owner of wine academy and bar Taberna in Singapore, is a judge in the Decanter Asia Wine Awards (DAWA).
Ying Hsien Tan is the owner of Taberna in Singapore, a wine academy and bar launched in 2010, where he focuses on wine education and tastings. In addition, Ying writes about wine as a freelance journalist, tastes for The Local Nose and is enrolled on the Master of Wine education programme.
His wine studies and tasting experience started in 1983, while at university in the UK, and he subsequently visited wine regions as well as the Russian Tsar’s former cellars at Massandra.
A member of the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne, Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and Commanderie de Bordeaux, Ying was previously on the tasting panel of Wine & Dine in Singapore and co‐hosted the wine segment of the Wine & Dine TV series for a number of years.
