DWWA Global Tastings 2012 - a word from Le Vignoble

We caught up with Yannick Loué at Le Vignoble, to find out what he thinks about this year's Global Tastings event, and why he is so keen to get involved in this series of DWWA tastings.

What made you want to get involved with Decanter’s Global Tastings programme this year?

Yannick: Brand awareness for our business as we just open 3 months ago also I think it is a great privilege to be part of a global tasting.

What do you think Decanter’s Global Tastings programme offers consumers?

Y: It is a great way for our costumer to try award winning wines trough our Enomatic system, without going for the all bottle.

Can you explain a bit about yourselves, in terms of what you offer and where you’re based around the world?

Y: We are a wine lounge, wine retail and wine education, we proud ourself to get people to discover wine that they probably haven't try before or scared to try when trey are in a restaurant, as we offer tasters, we change our selection every 2 weeks. We are also a young team and feel that people are less sacred to approach us, feel like it is less snobby.

Which DWWA 2012 wines did you have on offer for consumers to taste?

Y: We had 32 different wines availbale to taste at the event.

How did you promote the Global Tastings fortnight, did you host any special events?

Y: Social media has been very strong for us, unfortunately we were very late to get involve to it so we couldn't promote it as much as we wanted but will get much better next year.

How were the tastings received by wine enthusiasts?

Y: Very, especially finding some very good quality wine at very good price and for other opening there mind on fine wine.

Have you noticed any particular tasting trends or interest in any specific or unusual wines from the ones on offer?

Y: Dessert wine, and Uruguay wine were the most interesting and unusual.

With Decanter’s Global Tastings, people are able to taste and share lots of different wines through the use of Enomatic machines, what do you think it is about this format that people like so much? What do the machines brings to a tasting like this?

Y: A very good selection, choice and preservation all in one and of course the taste before going all the way.
 
Would you like to be part of the programme next year?

Y: Yes as we will be able to run properly.
