Private individuals thinking of storing wine at Octavian should read their T&Cs very carefully – they charge private accounts for the full year, even if you remove wine at the start of the year. I got caught out by that; I wanted to transfer all my stored wine to my wine merchant (who also store at Octavian but have negotiated a much lower rate due to their size). Octavian insisted on charging me a year’s rental; in the end I had to leave the wine there another 11 months to avoid having to pay both them and my wine merchant for storage. Commercial accounts are charged by the week, so your wine merchant can get wine out and delivered to you at short notice without undue cost.
