Armand de Brignac, the Champagne endorsed by hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, has launched a non-vintage Blanc de Blancs, retailing at £400.
This is the third cuvee in the range and is made from Chardonnay grown in premier cru and grand cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and Côtes de Blancs.
The bottle is coated in antique silver and includes four hand-polished pewter labels.
Armand de Brignac, produced by Champagne Cattier – a small Champagne house in Chigny-les-Roses, is owned by New York City-based Sovereign Brands.
The brand shot to fame in 2006, when Jay-Z featured a bottle of the Brut Gold in the music video for his single 'Show Me What You Got'.
Our Tastings Executive Mark O Halleron's verdict of the Blanc de Blancs?
'A feminine, perfumed nose of almonds and flowers. Finely balanced and poised on the palate with a steely minerality and alluring floral notes. Good persistence of flavour on the finish. Classy stuff.'

Any 'Vin Diesel' or celebrity endorsed wine is great for the industry. The Paris Hilton Prosecco in a can, Warwick Capper's Rich and Thick tin soup, 50 Cent's accurately priced condoms and NASCAR's Speed-Dating romance novels have paved the way for this latest congruent brand association. Give these marketing gurus the clap that they so richly deserve!
