The Windows on the World Wine School has announced it will continue its courses in a new location.
Until 11 September the school operated in the restaurant of the same name on floor 107 of One World Trade Center. At least 78 members of Windows's 450-person staff are
presumed dead in the wake of the terrorist attack two weeks ago.
Director Kevin Zraly has announced the continuation of the wine courses, in the Marriott Marquis Hotel on Broadway, some 40 blocks north of the stricken area. The hotel has loaned one of its ballrooms for classes.
'In the days following the tragedy, and the unfathomable loss of our co-workers and the many men and women who tried to save them, the future of the Wine School was the last thing on my mind,' Zraly said.
But, he went on, 'After meeting with the owners and survivors of Windows, we decided to continue the spirit and legacy of Windows on the World.'
Classes will continue weekly from 6.30 to 8.30pm from 15 October to 3 December.
