Goedhuis & Co to serve top Bordeaux at charity dinner

Fine wine merchant Goedhuis & Co has sourced a host of top Bordeaux, including all first-growths, for its 12th charity Wine Dinner and tasting to take place early next year.

La Mission Haut-Brion

The dinner will take place on Thursday 27 February at The Savoy in London, UK, with tickets priced at £650 each or £6,500 for a table of ten.

Over the last 24 years, the Wine Dinner has raised more than £2m for learning disability and children’s charities.

Wines to be available to taste at the 2014 dinner include all of the first-growths - Chateaux Lafite, Latour, Haut-Brion, Margaux and Mouton-Rothschild.

'Owing to the immense generosity of HRH Prince Robert of Luxembourg we will be drinking Chateau La Mission-Haut-Brion 1985 at dinner, as well as another very good 1985,' said Goedhuis.

There will also be several second-growths at the tasting, including Cos d'Estournel, Pichon Lalande, as well as third-growth Chateau Palmer and fifth-growth Lynch Bages, as well as Chateau La Conseillante and L'Evangile from Pomerol and Cheval Blanc and Ausone from St Emilion.

Money raised from the 2014 dinner will go to MacIntyre, which looks after 1,000 children and adults with learning disabilities, Carefree Northants, which also helps adults and families dealing with learning disabilities, and also Families for Children, a leading adoption charity for troubled children.
