Quenin is new St Emilion president
- Thursday 8 May 2008
De Bouard, owner of Chateau Angelus and regional president of INAO (Institut National des Appellations d’Origine) has been president of the Conseil since 1999, but indicated this year that he did not want to renew his mandate.
‘This is a good time for me to step back and concentrate on my work with the INAO,’ de Bouard told decanter.com.
‘Today Saint Emilion has begun working with the surrounding satellite appellations, to pool marketing initiatives, and is concentrating heavily on promoting its wines in France and overseas, as well as bringing in new quality controls for the wines. These are important initiatives that need the commitment and energy that Mr Quenin brings to everything he does.’
Quenin, 59, has been President of the Union des Syndicates of Saint Emilion, Pomerol and Fronsac since 2007.
