Mondavi company signs major deal with Veneto producer

According to a spokesman, the new joint venture with Mondavi - former managing director of Robert Mondavi Winery, will allow them to make use of a distribution network of 130 distributors throughout the US.

‘Our joint venture could lead to other future common projects, in Italy or in California,’ Giancarlo Moretti Polegato, President of Villa Sandi said.

The 50ha Villa Sandi – whose headquarters are in a 17th century Palladian villa - is known for its Prosecco

It controls a further 250ha with estates in the Prosecco DOC area and in Colli Asolani DOC. The latter estate produces Bordeux blends, with the assistance of Riccardo Cotarella, one of Italy's leading enologists.
