d'Arenberg honoured by Queen
- Friday 18 June 2004
The managing director of d’Arenberg Wines, based in Australia’s McLaren Vale, was named in the Queen’s birthday honours list.
The award was granted for d’Arry’s ‘contribution to the Australian wine industry and to the McLaren vale region.’
‘It’s a great honour to have your life’s love and work appreciated,’ said Osborn of the award.
d’Arenberg is one of Australia’s most respected high-end producers – d’Arry’s son Chester, now chief winemaker, was named McLaren Vale Winemaker of the Year in 1990, among a series of other awards.
Osborn first started in the wine industry 62 years ago when he produced wine in bulk.
