The www.ilovenaturalcork.co.uk campaign focuses on cork’s green credentials and calls on retailers and producers to state clearly whether their wines are sealed by cork stoppers. Decanter.com caught up with Goolden after the launch to find out why she’s backing the campaign.

Although I have considerable sympathy with this initiative (I am a wine writer living in Spain and have just visited Portugal where the Cork Industry is, I'm pleased to say, alive and well, though on the defensive) I would nevertheless advise 'I Love Natural Cork' to delete, from their list of cork's advantages, the fact that cork production is a centuries old tradition with skilled craftsmen etc. This is also said about the, in my opinion, indefensible and inexcusable bullfighting industry!
