Video: Peter Gago of Penfolds
- Thursday 4 November 2010
Talking to Decanter.com, Gago seems keenly aware of two much-heralded issues in the modern wine world – that wines should offer both regionality and accessibility.
On the subject of the latter, in acknowledging that many of today’s consumers want to drink wines younger, Gago again trumpets screwcaps over cork, but commits to glass stoppers as potentially the ultimate closure.
With budgetary constraints preventing progress on this front, Gago admits the continuing speculation over Penfolds’ ownership has been ‘unsettling’ and calls for a swift resolution to the issue.
