Philippe Dhalluin of Chateau Mouton-Rothschild: ‘Today, I’m very happy with 2010…’

The veteren oenologist of Bordeaux's venerable first growth, Chateau Mouton-Rothschild, discusses the coming harvest with Panos Kakaviatos.

Dhalluin has his fingers crossed: he’s optimistic at the moment thanks to a run of good weather at the end of August and the beginning of September.

The grapes are showing good levels of potential alcohol with at least two weeks to go before harvest. The Merlot is at 13% and the Cabernet at 12%, levels of acidity are goo – but the tannins must mature before picking.

Filmed at Mouton on 8 September 2010, Dhalluin explains his hopes for the 2010 harvest.
