History:

Perched high on Saint-Emilion’s limestone plateau, the vineyards of Château Pavie-Decesse overlook those of its illustrious neighbour Château Pavie. In the mid-1800s, both properties belonged to the same owner, Bordeaux négociant Ferdinand Bouffard, but he sold off Pavie-Decesse in 1880. The latter passed through several hands, but came full circle in 1990 when it was purchased by Jean-Paul Valette, the then owner of Château Pavie. Gérard Perse, of Vignobles Perse, acquired the estate in 1997 (followed by Château Pavie a year later).
