Stapleton & Springer, Orange Pinot Noir 2014
The name and colour may suggest skin contact (à la natural orange wine) but no, this is the result of prolonged yeast contact of 15 to 20 days at low temperature. This rosé from the Czech Republic is quite a fun but serious discovery, opening up to red and black cherry fruit aromas and a peppery intensity. A lovely silky texture with good grip from the tannins and a smooth finish. A good talking point at the dinner table!
