Marc Angeli, La Lune, Vin de France, Anjou-Saumur, 2014

92
Tasted by: Christelle Guibert
A Chenin Blanc from Anjou in the Loire, but bottled as table wine as Angeli is not much of a fan of France’s appellation system. The nose opens to smoky apricot, vibrant floral notes and a honeyed intensity, then the palate shows plenty of layers with a tight structure and creamy texture. Oak is apparent but it will integrate more with time. Yes, patience, is what you’ll need before you can truly enjoy the potential of this beauty.
