Macán Clásico was designed to be the second wine to Macán. 2013 was a cool, rainy vintage, resulting in tiny yields and the need for careful selection in the winery. Fine, delicate aromas lead to a well structured sour cherry and redcurrant palate, with finely textured tannins. A bright lift of acidity refreshes, and the oak is much less marked, enabling the fruit to show through. A step change in quality this year, showing more balance, delicacy and elegance. 100% Tempranillo. 15 months in mostly new French oak, plus some one year barrels.
