Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010

Rich ripe plummy nose. Broad and plump, with good weight of fruit and ample concentration and grip. Spicy and complex, with vibrant acidity to balance the lush fruit. Not quite in harmony yet, but just needs time. Good length.

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010

Deep colour and raw slightly oaky nose; modern style wine with plenty of barrique used, some of it seemingly new. Beyond all that there is weighty black fruit and quite stentorian tannins. Potential is not to be undermined, despite its angularity today.

John Livingstone-Learmonth

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010

Thick nose – a deep black stone fruit air, with oak traces and a fine spearmint note, a laurel herb influence, too. The palate is full and shapely, the oak moving around freely for now. Ends on a good, running note, the fruit persistent. Good, squeezy fruit in well-managed oak.
