Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010

Muted black fruits nose. Quite rich and sleek, juicy but fresh, has limpidity rather than weight, and thus some charm and succulence. It has light tannins and some minerality, and seems finely tuned and well balanced. The finish is spicy and quite long, but overall it lacks some complexity.

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010

A nose of hedgerow fruit is immediately appealing. One is not let down by the palate;a quite high-toned, almost ethereal Pinot-like character is entwined with more southern, warmer notes of cherry and the orange grove with pepper on the finish. The overall impression is charming, gentle and approachable.

Tasting: Saint Joseph 2010

Smoky, clear, snap red berry, hedgerow fruit aroma, with a secure central depth, point of focus. The palate sets off on alert, lively red fruit, swings along well, leads to a clear finish, just a few grainy tannins there that are tasty. Good balance, with its freshness lifting the finish, rendering it clear and crisp as it ends. Enjoyable and enough verve to drink solo at this young stage.
