What is wonderful about Paris is that you’ll always be able to find a wine bar or a restaurant that serves sophisticated ‘bistronomie’ – like the English term ‘gastropub’ – charcuterie and other regional fare. From the simple petit zinc (local bar) to a ritzier venue serving grands crus, Parisian wine bars and bistros are forever delighting the most demanding wine lovers with their authenticity.

Perhaps more surprising is the choice you will encounter, with lists increasingly embracing non-French wines as well as local offerings. The characteristics of these establishments are often the same: a tight space – often overbooked – and a passionate and authentic welcome. These are the necessary ingredients to get an address on the map.

The following venues are well known. Some have been around forever, while others are newer, but all have one thing in common: they’ve been approved by wine lovers. From natural wines to first growths, there is something for everyone in Paris.
