Gavin Monery started his career in wine as a cellar hand in Margaret River in 2000, working his way through the roles of Lab Tech and Cellar Supervisor whilst undertaking part-time studies in Viticulture/Oenology. In 2004 he moved to Cullen Wines, which was followed up by a short stint at Moss Wood for the 2007 vintage. Later that year, Gavin moved to the UK, joining Roberson Wines to manage their private clients. Since then he has completed a harvest in the Rhone (with J.L. Chave), and three in Burgundy, where he made the first wine under his own label in 2012. He spends his spare time cycling and drinking, though not generally together.
