Vinexpo’s renowned social scene kicked off in style on Saturday night as guests converged on the Graves for the opening party at Chateau Fieuzal.
Hosted by Chateau Fieuzal owner Lochlann Quinn and his family, guests from across Bordeaux and the international wine trade came together for a tasting and dinner to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Crus Classes de Graves.
The evening began with guests being transported in horse-drawn carriages to the entrance of Chateau Fieuzal’s circular barrel cellar, where atasting featured all the member properties of the Crus Classes de Graves.
Then, in two open-sided marquees, a five course meal by two star Michelin chef Hélène Darroze, was served accompanied by library vintages of both red and white Graves properties, including Chateau Haut-Brion 1998.
The association of Crus Classes de Graves was honoured in speeches by Lochlann Quinn, Eric Perrin (President of the Cru Classes deGraves), Bordeaux mayor Alain Juppe and Vinexpo chairman Xavier de Eizaguirre, before the evening concluded with a striking firework display above the vines of Chateau Fieuzal.
