A boat moored on the Garonne river in Bordeaux was the idyllic setting for the Grenache Association’s intimate tasting on the first evening of Vinexpo.

Stunning views of the Bourse Palace provided an exquisite backdrop for this informal and lively gathering of Grenache enthusiasts and winemakers.

The Grenache Association is a non-profit organisation whose aim is to bring together all those passionate about this grape and to help promote its attributes to the wine world.

Nestled in the bowls of the boat and on its sun drenched decks, wineries were proudly showcasing their finest wines and catching up with the latest from Vinexpo.

Guest nibbled on saucisson and cured ham while tasting a wide array of nwines from around the world including; Domaine Turner Pageot, France, Domaines Lupier, Spain, and Kilikanoon, Australia.

Amongst the producers present was Neil Joyce of Chateau Dalmeran and La Celestiere, the only Englishman to own a vineyard in Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

International Grenache Day will be celebrated this year on the 20th September.
