Spanish wine: tradition meets modernity

Spain is one of the most exciting winemaking countries in the world – as well as one of the most ancient.

As recently as five years ago few imagined that wines from every corner of Spain would be taken as seriously as they are.

We're now seeing fascinating new wines from DOs such as Madrid, La Mancha and Jumilla. At the same time, old-established regions such as Rioja are re-inventing their style, young winemakers trying new methods and new varietals and producing wines which though recognisably local have a distinctly modern edge.

Spain is a country on the cusp of a winemaking revolution: there has never been a better time to explore its wonderfully diverse wines.
