Beverley Blanning MW, judge on the DWWA Germany, Languedoc-Roussillon and Regional France panels in 2010

Beverley Blanning MW is an independent wine journalist and author, based in London. She is a regular feature writer and taster for Decanter and has contributed to a number of publications internationally, including Wall Street Journal Europe, The World of Fine Wine, Quarterly Review of Wines and Sommelier Journal. She is the author of Choosing the Right Wine, part of the best-selling Teach Yourself series, published in 2008. Book contributions include Jancis Robinson’s The Oxford Companion to Wine and Tom Stevenson’s annual guide, Wine Report, both on the subject of wine and health. She is an experienced international competition judge, and tastes and travels widely. She also presents and educates about wine, through consumer tastings, corporate and trade events, and has led consumer wine tours across France, Spain and South America. Blanning passed her MW in 2001, at the first attempt, and was awarded the Villa Maria and Errázuriz Awards for her papers on viticulture and business. She is currently an active member of the Institute of Masters of Wine, involved in policy (as an elected member of Council), education and events.
