Jane Hunt MW
Jane Hunt MW has now been working in the UK wine trade for 33 years. She started her career in the PR Department of John Harvey & Sons in Bristol giving guided tours of the Harvey's Wine Museum and tutoring Sherry tastings, studying her way through all the WSET examinations. Passing her MW in 1985, she went on to work for Brown Brothers in Australia and then via its UK agent, Walter Siegel & Co on her return to the UK. From 1987–1991, Hunt was sales and marketing director for Paul Boutinot Wines, before going freelance in 1992, where she wrote a monthly column for House and Garden, co-ordinated and lectured wine courses for Leith's School of Food and Wine, wrote copy for wine lists and other literature for Sainsbury's, Bottoms Up and Wine Rack. She set up and ran Wines of South Africa (WOSA) in 1995, and completed an HND in Horticulture and Crop Technology from 1999–2001. She now runs Hunt & Coady with her business partner Tina Coady, which involves organising major trade tastings for France and Italy and the annual Argentina Wine Awards competition in Mendoza. She now spends several months of the year in Italy where she produces olive oil at her renovated farmhouse in Umbria.
