Decanter Magazine, the leading consumer wine magazine, is looking for temporary staff to provide support during the Decanter World Wine Awards Judging week.
Judging week is an exciting and pressured week during which two hundred of the world’s most respected wine experts carry out four days of intensive judging and tasting of all the wine entered into the awards. It takes place at The Worx, Parsons Green, London SW6 from Monday 11th – Thursday 14th April 2011.
We urgently require staff to help set up the tables for every flight of wine and open every bottle in each flight and to look after our judges during the tastings. You will also be required to help in the smooth running of the event, collect tasting sheets and generally help out in an enthusiastic and polite manner.
The day will commence promptly at 8am until 6pm or whenever your panel of judges finish. There is excellent team spirit and much of the work will involve keeping your designated room and area tidy and ensuring the wines and glasses are in the right place at the right time for the judges.
The ideal candidates will be confident, smart and conscientious, interested in wine, energetic and hard-working. They will have good organisational skills and work well as part of a team and under their own initiative.
We will provide lunch and a light breakfast. Payment is at a rate of £10 per hour. Travel expenses cannot be reimbursed.
Please note there will be no opportunity for any tasting during this week.
