The celebrity wine industry has seen a considerable rise in the number of famous enthusiasts over the past decade, for both private enjoyment and financial investment.

Several A-list stars own vineyards and wine estates solely for personal use including Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, French actor Gerard Depardieu and British musician Sting.

Some celebrities produce wine for retail purposes including American actresses Drew Barrymore and Olivia Newton John, actors Antonio Banderas and Sam Neil, Eurythmics star Dave Stewart, and most recently Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie.

While other celebrities either form collaborations with a winery or winemaker who is already established in the industry such as Bob Dylan, Martha Stewart and Gordon Ramsay, or have a winemaking family history like film director Francis Ford Coppola.
