Decanter Education announced

Decanter has announced the launch of Decanter Education – a comprehensive series of courses and masterclasses led by recognised experts.

Courses cover Burgundy, the Rhone, the Medoc, St Emilion and Pomerol, Piedmont, Tuscany and Spain, and take place at Decanter’s headquarters, the iconic Blue Fin Building behind the Tate Modern on the south bank of the Thames.

The tutors – Steven Spurrier on Bordeaux, Sarah Jane Evans MW on Spain, John Livingstone Learmonth on the Rhone, Beverley Blanning MW on Burgundy, Michael Garner on Italy and Stephen Brook on the the right bank – are among the most renowned wine writers and critics in the world.

Courses cost from £90 for evening sessions, and up to £225 – including a three-course lunch – for day sessions. The term starts on 24 September 2010.

Each of the courses includes wines carefully chosen as unique examples of their terroir, with the day course featuring up to different 14 wines.

Decanter Education is a fifth element to the Decanter brand: Decanter magazine, decanter.com, the Decanter World Wine Awards, Decanter events including the Decanter Fine Wine Encounter, and Decanter Education.
