Sale speculation returns at Brad Pitt & Jolie’s Château Miraval

A fresh media report claiming that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Provence wine estate is about to go on the market has been dismissed as 'rumours' by a person familiar with the situation.

Talk of a Château Miraval sale has been re-ignited.

A report by Us Weekly cited multiple but unnamed sources as telling the publication that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will putt Miraval on the market in the near future.

Château Miraval’s future was placed in doubt when Pitt and Jolie confirmed last month that they would file for divorce.

But, a source close to the estate told Decanter.com today (24 October) that talk of a sale remained just ‘rumours’.

Pitt and Jolie bought 700-hectare Miraval in the north of Provence in 2008. They started working with the Perrin family of Château Beaucastel and released a 2012 vintage Provence rosé wine in spring of 2013.

The wine sold out quickly and subsequent vintages have been well received by several critics, including Decanter contributing editor Jane Anson.

Marc Perrin, who makes the Miraval rosé wine alongside the Jolie-Pitts, told Decanter.com last month that it was business as usual at the château. ‘The 2016 vintage will be released as planned,’ he said.
