Have you ever felt so strongly about a wine retailer that you want the world to know? Now’s your chance to have your say – with the Decanter World Wine Awards Retailer of the Year Award.

As part of the 2006 competition, we are asking readers to vote for their favourite UK wine store. All entries will be entered into a draw to win one of five top-of-the-range Screwpull corkscrews.

Readers will be able to nominate their choices, and the stores receiving the most votes will go forward to be judged by an expert panel of Decanter contributors, led by consultant editor Steven Spurrier.

The award, which is limited to wine retailers in the UK, will be split into four categories: supermarkets, high street stores, independent merchants, and mail order/online merchants.

Contenders will be rated on three overriding criteria: range, price and service.

This will cover the overall experience of buying from the store and the value it offers. Each store that makes it onto the shortlist will be visited by a mystery shopper as part of the final judging process.

Readers can vote in all four categories – and you can cast your votes online at www.decanter.com/worldwineawards/retail. Nominations close on 28 April.
