Anyone looking for a great-value digestif should make a beeline for this Vin Santo, a Tuscan treasure made mainly from dried grapes. By law, the wine must be a minimum of 16% alcohol and be a blend of at least 70% Trebbiano and Malvasia; the remainder can be made from other local white grapes. This one has lovely dried fruit and a nutty, saline, almost Madeira-like appeal, with real umami character. It would be a perfect match for Lidl's delicious mini stollen bites. Part of Lidl's Christmas Wine Tour collection, available from 23rd November.
