Aldi, Exquisite Collection Albariño, Rías Baixas, 2017

This grape, from this part of the world - close to the Atlantic coast - is known to develop a salty, minerally character. It's amazing to see a hint of it in this good value example, lending lift and intensity to the otherwise fairly anodyne apple and elderflower flavours.
