From the Luján de Cuyo sub-region of Mendoza, this Malbec has plenty of appeal, with uplifting, fresh, plum fruit at its core and a touch of hedgerow fruit as well. It's not too sweet - indeed there's a savoury facet - with a touch of tannic bite adding more of a serious edge. (15.5 points) £7.99

With the image of Bacchus adorning its labels, Jadot is one of the most recognised French 'brands'. This gives what you would expect from a Mâcon-Villages, with its clear, bright, white fruit, touches of apple, pineapple and slighty leesy undertones. An enjoyable glass. (15.5 points) £9.59

From a DO in Galicia destined for great things, this is a wonderfully pure wine made from the Mencia grape. It's focused and precise, with red damsons, darker fruits and a delightful helping of fresh herbs. Graceful and light, it has character, balance, lovely depth and a smooth, sleek finish.
