The suggestion is created here that Extra dry is very dry champagne; that might be misleading as "Extra dry" champagnes to my knowledge in fact have MORE sugar than (regular) "Brut" champagnes and are hence slightly sweeter. Not quite a s sweet as e.g. "demi sec" which is too notches up on the sweetness scale.
