Pecorino

Pecorino

A recent success story, with many estates producing a wine hard to find only 10 years ago. It’s grown only in Abruzzo and the Marche. Recent wines show very Sauvignon-like characteristics. Other examples are more herbal, and one wonders how much Trebbiano finds its way into lesser examples of Pecorino.

Try: Podere Castorani, Amorino Pecorino, Colline Pescaresi, Abruzzo 2009

Herbal, fig and melon aromas and flavours, with a nicely rich texture and finish. 16pts/20
Price: £16.50 Slurp
Drink: 2012–2014
Alc: 13%
