50 great-value wines under £15
Jean-François Mérieau, Cent Visages, Malbec, Touraine, Loire, France 2009
Touraine might be the last place you’d look for Malbec but the Loire is now making some fine examples. Here, the nose is packed with crunchy red fruit, blueberry and blackberry. The fresh palate is lighter in body than Argentinian Malbec, with brisk acidity, grippy tannins and a peppery, earthy finish. 18pts/20 (93/100)
Price: £14.95 Caviste
Alc: 12%
