Vintage Champagne 1992 & 1993: Panel tasting results
Duval Leroy, Fleur de Champagne 1993 (disgorged June 1998)
Although this family-owned house has made great efforts to establish its own identity under the direction of Carol Duval, who switched emphasis from own-label production to the Champagne Duval-Leroy label, it remains overlooked and underappreciated. However, as this 1993 demonstrates, it has always been capable of producing top-performing Champagnes. Produced by Hervé Jestin who was the winemaker at Duval-Leroy from 1982 until 2006, the 1993 is a blend of Chardonnay from four villages on the Côte des Blancs: Vertus, Chouilly, Avize and Le Mesnil sur Oger, with a dosage of 9.5g/l.
