A tasting that, in theory, offers drinkers a taste of one of Bordeaux’s most acclaimed vintages at a more affordable price than the esteemed crus classés. Yet only one wine was judged as being ‘Outstanding’, although more than 130 were ‘Recommended’, with a further
29 ‘Highly Recommended’. Despite the overall positive comments, however, our judges bemoaned the wide variation in quality.
