Definitely decant first - at least an hour. Otherwise rough but once is smooths out a lovely very rich and flavorful wine. Great with red meats, smoked foods, hi-acid dishes. Not for the faint of heart.

We returned to the wine shop and bought a case - a great wine for the price.
