Domaine du Salvard, Cheverny, Loire, France 2011

Domaine du Salvard, Cheverny, Loire, France 2011
An appellation located to the south of Blois, Cheverny certainly doesn’t have the prestige of other Loire ACs, yet this wine proves it can deliver great value. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, the former brings the aromatics, the latter the structure. It’s punchy, minerally and steely with an overlying freshness and fine fruit intensity. 17pts/20 (90/100pts)
