Saam Mountain, Chenin Blanc, Paarl, South Africa 2012
Situated at the foot of the Perdeberg Mountain, Saam, meaning ‘together’ in Afrikaans, is a winery run by a team of winegrowers with a commitment to local biodiversity. The nose opens to honey, candied almonds and stone fruit, followed by a creamy, weighty lemon meringue palate. The finish is lingering, refreshed by more honeyroast nuts and lemon zest. 18pts/20 (93/100pts)
