Decanter average score: 17.25pts/20 (90+/100pts)
Individual judge’s scores: SB 18 AG 16.5 SS 17
Good, solid, slightly earthy blackcurrant fruit. Chocolatey and ripe on the palate. Very rich, broad and succulent – highly concentrated, but good acidity gives it flair and verve. Quite a bracing style, with grip and backbone.
Price £24–£26 Balthazar, Fine & Rare, Nebuchadnezzar
Drink 2016–2040
Alc 14%
