St-Emilion 1GCC & GCC 2010: panel tasting results

These structured, ageworthy wines pleased our judges on the whole, but they criticised the high oak,
extraction and alcohols in many examples, which masked their vineyard character. Nevertheless, two wines were awarded Outstanding and 17 wines Highly Recommended - see all 19 St Emilion 2010s here...

Sweet, intense nose, with considerable charm: minty with a hint of red fruits, as well as cherries. A graceful rather than forceful style, with freshness, lovely balance and an appealing mocha tone from the oak. Very good vineyard expression.
