19.25/20pts (97/100pts)
Two Mataro (Mourvedre) sites are blended with 15% Syrah and 9% Grenache. Just 2,466 bottles made. Dark plums, red fruit, coal tar and earthy aromas with citrus peel, spice and a gamey, savoury note. The palate is laced with pepper and spice, dark slate and minerals and squeaky tannins. Juicy, upbeat and yet soulfully assembled. An elegant yet deceptively structured rendition of the Barossa Valley.
