Producer Description

This 4.5-ha Barbaresco estate run by Roberto Bianco has recently produced much improved wines. Barbarescos Morassino and Ovello are soft, round and seductive, in a modern style. There is richer texture, better breadth and lots of extract in Ovello, in part due to barrique-ageing, but the oak is not intrusive. More overtly oaky is spicy, soft, red- and black-fruited Langhe Rosso which justs lacks a little depth. Dolcetto is a good, well-defined fruit-driven style if nothing more. Very small amounts of Barbera d’Alba (Vignot) are also made. Information supplied by Wine Behind the Label
