History:

Château Berliquet can trace its history back to 1749 when it was owned by priest Paul-Romain de Sèze (his brother was lawyer to Louis XVI). The then prestigious estate passed from the de Sèze family to Dominique Pères, and a century later to Count Louis de Carles. Today’s owner, Vicomte Patrick de Lesquen, has overseen something of a renaissance in the wine’s quality, which until the late 1970s was made by a local co-operative. It is now vinified and matured on site.
