Château Carbonnieux is one of the most famous Cru Classé de Graves in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Family owned by the Antony Perrin, this model estate is also the largest of all Graves classified growths.
Established on the silico-limestone crests dominating the cool valley of the "Eau-Blanche" which crosses the commune of Léognan, capital of the Grand Graves country, the Chiateau Carbonnieux was built at the end of the 14th century, around 1380.
The white wines of Carbonnieux are dry, full of breeding and distinction, with plenty of rich fruit. They are exceptional wines. The red wines are full of aromatic flavours, fleshy, with an elegant bouquet. They too have breeding and achieve and develop with age the finest qualities of the great Bordeaux wines, often coming close to the more generous Burgundies.
