History:

The same ancient estate that gave rise to the two Second Growth Margaux Châteaux Rauzan-Ségla and Rauzan-Gassies also provided the land for this property. Originally just 30 hectares, it passed – by way of a 1760s dowry – to its namesake the Marquis de Terme, François de Peguilhan. Much applauded, the fine terroir and wine made possible acquisition of some more disparate vineyards. Next owners of significance were the Feuillerat family, proprietors after 100 years managing the estate. The early 20th century blight forced a sale and in 1935 the estate passed to Marseilles wine merchant Pierre Sénéclauze. His sons Jean, Philippe and Pierre Louis today head up a much renovated and modernised enterprise.
