History:

Sold to Elysée Nairac in 1777, the estate had only some years earlier been turned into a focused wine making concern. Wealthy in shipping, the Nairac family erected the splendid chateau, and after Elysée died in 1791, the estate was supervised largely by his daughters Henriette and Julie-Emilie. They sold it on to the prominent wine figure Bernard Capdeville, but subsequently the estate passed through numerous hands and varying fortunes before being taken on by an American, Tom Heeter. After considerable improvements it continues today to prosper under Nicole, Heeter’s ex-wife, and their son Nicolas.
