Producer Description

Sottimano is a still expanding estate with additional recent vineyard acquisitions of Barbaresco vineyards. Direction comes from Rino Sottimano but he is assisted by his son Andrea and the rest of hisfamily. Significant improvements in quality continue to accrue from the recent run of top vintages. Small amounts (only a few thousand bottles of each) of ripe barrique-aged Barbaresco are made from the Cottà, Currà, Fausoni and Pajoré crus. All are well-structured with generally well-balanced tannins and alcohol and show good complexity with 5 or 6 years’ age or more and quality continues to improve. Barbera and Dolcetto also reflect the new standards being attained here. Maté is a dry, fruity Brachetto. Information supplied by Wine Behind the Label
